Presented by in partnership with the Kitsap County Noxious Weed Control Board
Ever wonder what’s growing in your backyard and what should you do about it?
Join us as we partner with the Kitsap County Noxious Weed Control Board to bring you a free, hands on community workshop at Blue Oak Park! Together, we’ll take a closer look at some of the invasive and noxious weeds found right here in Kitsap County, learn practical ways to identify these plants, and how to manage them.
Kitsap County Noxious Weed Program Coordinator Jade Jarvis will guide us through real plant specimens, identification tips, control methods, safe disposal, and when or how to report a noxious weed. We’ll also explore useful weed removal tools, learn about Kitsap County’s tool lending program, and put some of that knowledge into practice with examples found right here at Blue Oak Park.
Whether you’re battling an unfamiliar plant in your own yard, curious about what’s growing around the neighborhood, or interested in helping care for our shared green spaces this workshop is for you.
