Know Your Weeds! A Community Workshop at Blue Oak Park
What's Growing in Your Backyard?
Ever spotted an unfamiliar plant growing in your yard and wondered whether it's a harmless wildflower or something a little less welcome? You're certainly not alone! Join us on Saturday, October 17, from 10:00–11:00 AM at Blue Oak Park for our upcoming Know Your Weeds Workshop, presented in partnership with the Kitsap County Noxious Weed Control Board.
Learn What's Growing Around You
Our neighborhood is home to an incredible variety of plants, but not everything growing in our yards and green spaces is necessarily beneficial. Some invasive plants can spread aggressively, crowd out native vegetation, and become difficult to manage once established.
During this workshop we'll explore common noxious weeds found in our area, how to recognize them, and practical approaches to managing unwanted plants. Whether you're an enthusiastic gardener, a homeowner tackling a stubborn patch of weeds, or simply curious about the plants growing around Parkwood East, there's something to learn!
